While on a drive a few weeks ago, I saw a field of bright yellow flowers off the side of the road and I just HAD to pull over. The closer I got, the more excited I became -- I hadn't realized how far these flowers stretched!
After snapping a few phone pics of this location, I posted a model call on my Instagram stories. When Nycole responded, I was so excited! Nycole and I met last year during a headshot day I hosted in Laguna Niguel. I loved her sense of style, and though our session was brief, we captured some great images for her business, Eden Financial. (Side note -- she just announced the release of the CUTEST children's book, Haisley's Birthday Money. I'm so excited to order it -- I think it will be a great way to start talking about money with my daughter!)
But let's get back to the flower fields! When I had originally scouted the location, there was plenty of parking and few visitors. However, on the day of the shoot, much of the parking was closed off due to mud, and the field was busy with families, photographers, and selfie-ers. Fortunately, there was plenty of space for everyone and we were able to get so many gorgeous shots!
I'm the first to admit that the rain we've gotten during the last few weeks hasn't been my favorite. Yes, I know we need the water, but as a mom to a toddler, being stuck inside has been ROUGH. However...if it means getting blooms like this, I'm inclined to say it's worth it!
